The Ruger-built Marlin 1894 Guide Gun in .357 Magnum is the trail-friendly companion variant of the classic 1894 lever action, configured with a black-painted laminate stock, large lever loop, and pistol-caliber chambering. Manufactured by Ruger after their acquisition of the Marlin brand, the new 1894 Guide Gun pairs the original 1894 short-action with crisp checkering, modern accessory mounting, and the .357 Magnum / .38 Special chambering that gives this rifle remarkable versatility from small game to deer-class animals.

The .357 Magnum out of a 16.1" carbine barrel produces noticeably more energy than the same round from a revolver meaningful enough to extend the cartridge's effective range to well beyond what most shooters expect. Light recoil, fast lever action, weatherproof laminate stock, and pistol-caliber accuracy combine into a serious trail companion.
