If something's wrong,
here's how it works.
The firearms industry has rules — some federal, some manufacturer-set, some ours. We don't write the laws, but we follow them to the letter. Below is exactly what we can and can't do when something needs to come back or get fixed.
```P01 Return Policy
Cancelled or returned firearms are subject to a 15% restocking fee (i.e., item not compliant in customer's state, denial, prohibited ownership, etc.).
Once a firearm has been transferred via Form 4473, it is considered "used" and cannot be returned. We cannot make exceptions to this — federal law treats the moment of transfer as final.
The following items are non-returnable under any circumstances:
- ×Ammunition
- ×Black powder & black powder supplies
- ×Pepper spray
- ×Any firearm that has been transferred via Form 4473
New firearms are covered under the manufacturer's warranty and must be returned to the manufacturer for repair or evaluation.
Customers are responsible for all shipping charges and service fees related to returns.
P02 Warranties
Most new firearms and accessories are covered under the original manufacturer's warranty. Warranty service, repair, or replacement must be coordinated directly with the manufacturer unless otherwise stated.
Vantage Defense does not provide warranty repair services unless specifically noted in writing. We're happy to help you connect with the right contact at the manufacturer — but the resolution itself happens between you and them.

How layaway works, what we charge to take in transfers, how long we'll hold a firearm, and how shipping plays out — start to finish, no surprises at checkout.
```P03 Layaway Policy
We offer a 30-day layaway with a 20% deposit. This locks in your firearm at today's price while you finish funding the purchase.
Federal background checks (Form 4473) expire 30 days from the date originally completed. Additional purchases of serialized items after pickup require a new background check.
Defaulting on a layaway results in forfeiture of the 20% deposit. Cancellation of special orders or in-store firearm purchases (including denials) results in a 15% restocking fee based on the full purchase price. Store credit may be offered in lieu of this penalty.
P04 Firearm Transfers
Firearm transfers shipped to our facility are accepted for a fee of $45 per firearm. Transfer paperwork may begin once we notify you — not when tracking shows delivery. Please allow one business day for intake processing.
Storage Schedule- Transfers are held for 30 days at no charge.
- After 30 days, a $50 monthly storage fee applies per firearm.
- Firearms left longer than six months become property of Vantage Defense LLC and may be sold to recover storage costs.
Customers agree to these terms when shipping firearms to us. If you've sent us a transfer and need an update, email info@vantagedefense.com with your tracking number.
P05 NFA / Suppressor Cancellations
NFA orders (suppressors, SBRs) require additional processing on our end, and the cancellation policy reflects this:
- Orders cancelled before the Form 3 has been filed with the ATF will incur a 15% cancellation fee.
- Orders cancelled after the Form 3 has been filed will incur a 25% cancellation fee.
- Once the ATF has approved a Form 3, no cancellations will be accepted. The item will ship to your designated dealer, as it has already been transferred to them via the ATF.
Please be aware of these policies. By placing an order for a suppressor or SBR through our website, you accept these terms in full.
P06 Shipping Policy
Firearms are shipped only to valid FFL dealers and cannot be shipped to P.O. boxes or non-licensed addresses. Ammunition and accessories may be shipped directly to customers where legally permitted.
Customers are responsible for understanding their state and local firearm laws. Contact your receiving FFL dealer prior to ordering to confirm transfer policies and fees — every shop charges differently and not all dealers accept transfers from every source.
Customers assume responsibility for returned shipments due to FFL refusal or delivery failure. Returned packages will be reshipped once additional shipping payment is received.
